Understanding the treatment

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a small, biocompatible titanium post that is placed into the jawbone where a tooth is missing. Over the following months the bone bonds to the implant (osseointegration), creating a stable artificial root. A custom crown, bridge or denture is then fixed on top.

Because an implant is anchored in bone, it does not rely on neighbouring teeth for support and helps preserve the jawbone that would otherwise slowly shrink after tooth loss. For most people it is the closest thing to getting a natural tooth back.

At OGHA, implant planning starts with a full assessment of your gums, bite and bone volume. If bone is thin, we will explain options such as bone grafting before we begin — so there are no surprises later.

Is this right for you?

Implants may be right for you if…

Most healthy adults with a missing tooth can be considered for implants. Your suitability is confirmed after a clinical exam and 3D scan.

You have one or more missing teeth
Your denture feels loose, painful or makes eating difficult
A tooth is badly broken and cannot be saved
You don't want healthy teeth cut down for a bridge
You've noticed your face or jaw looking 'sunken' after tooth loss
You want a fixed, long-term solution rather than a removable one
Your journey at OGHA

How implant treatment works

A clear, unhurried process — you'll know exactly what is happening and why at every step.

Consult & 3D scan

We examine your mouth, review your medical history and take a 3D scan to measure bone height, width and density.

Personal plan

You see your plan on screen — implant position, crown design, timelines and any preparatory steps such as grafting.

Implant placement

The implant is placed under local anaesthesia in a calm, comfortable setting. Most patients describe it as easier than an extraction.

Healing

Over the next few months the bone bonds to the implant. A temporary tooth can often be provided so you are never without a smile.

Final crown

Your custom crown is shaded and shaped to match your natural teeth, then fixed securely. Then we keep it healthy with regular reviews.

With good hygiene and check-ups, implants can last for many years.

The OGHA difference

Dentistry that looks at the whole you

At OGHA, your teeth are never treated in isolation. We connect oral health with breathing, sleep, inflammation and long-term wellbeing — and we plan every treatment for how it will serve you ten years from now, not just next week.

Root-cause diagnosis

Digital X-rays, intra-oral cameras and 3D scanning so we treat the reason behind the problem, not only the tooth in front of us.

Biocompatible materials

Thoughtfully selected mercury-free and BPA-free materials, chosen for long-term health as well as looks.

Comfort by design

Massage-chair recliners, a movie while you're treated and NuCalm® drug-free relaxation for anxious patients.

Minimally invasive first

We save natural tooth structure wherever possible and only recommend what you genuinely need.

What to expect

During & after your treatment

On treatment day

  • Local anaesthesia keeps the area completely numb
  • Optional NuCalm® relaxation if you feel anxious
  • Most single implants take about an hour
  • You can usually go home or back to work the same day

Aftercare & results

  • Mild swelling or tenderness for a few days is normal
  • Soft foods and gentle cleaning around the site at first
  • Avoid smoking — it significantly slows healing

FAQs

Dental implant questions, answered

Is getting a dental implant painful?

The procedure is done under local anaesthesia, so you should not feel pain during it. Afterwards most people have mild soreness for a few days that is managed with simple painkillers. Anxious patients can also use our drug-free NuCalm® relaxation system.

How long does the whole implant process take?

The implant itself is usually placed in a single visit. The bone then needs time to bond with it — typically three to six months — before the final crown is fitted. If grafting is needed first, the timeline is longer. You'll get a clear schedule at your consultation.

Am I too old for dental implants?

Age alone is rarely a barrier. What matters more is your general health, bone volume and gum health. Conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes or heavy smoking can affect healing, so we assess these carefully.

What if I don't have enough bone?

Bone grafting or other techniques can often rebuild the area so an implant can be placed. Your 3D scan tells us exactly how much bone is available.

How do I care for an implant?

Just like a natural tooth — brush twice a day, clean between teeth and attend regular check-ups and hygiene visits. Healthy gums are the key to implant longevity.

How much do dental implants cost in Gachibowli?

Cost depends on the number of implants, the type of crown and whether grafting is needed. We give you a written, itemised plan after your consultation so you can decide with full clarity.
